In August 2024, the Aliens and Immigration Law was amended to formally align Cyprus’s immigration law with the EU Blue Card Directive (2021/1883).
Starting July 2025, Cyprus will accept applications for the issuance of the European Union (EU) Blue Card to highly skilled professionals.
What is the EU Blue Card?
The EU Blue Card is a residence permit that allows highly skilled personnel from Non–EU countries, under certain criteria, to live and work in the Republic of Cyprus and other EU member states via short-term or long-term mobility functions.
It serves as a gateway to exciting opportunities within Cyprus and the wider European Union.
